Why now?

 

Now would be an extremely good time to support AJ Revolution- in fact, it might be the only time…

 

Donald Trump’s inauguration, something that feels strangely like national pride seeping back into the UK, and various Western territories altering their stances on mass immigration signal an opportunity: a West that’s quite simply had enough. But we must act now, and strike while the iron’s hot, before we lose our rights to free speech (and informed choice) completely. We need as many voices as possible in the call for immediate change- and AJ Revolution could be among the loudest, and best-informed, out there…

Written constitution = a lasting solution, and a fleeting opportunity...

 

We’re vying for something unique in our campaign. We’re not interested in false promises, policies that get broken all the time, or flimsy, isolated acts of law- we’d be pressuring the government into passing a binding, written British constitution; ensuring the solutions we find to loose borders, uncared-for vulnerable people, far-leftism (and indeed, far-rightism), Sharia courts, blasphemy laws, over-crowding and animal exploitation are permanent and protect us forever (similar to- but better than- the bill of rights, in the US). That’s what sets AJ Revolution apart from your garden variety banner wavers- we solve problems at their roots, we don't just treat symptoms.

But, with that said, the profound opportunity this legal gap presents is- like most things in life- a double-edged sword...

 

We cannot let political parties that don’t serve Europe's best interests get there first. In fact, we can’t let anyone get there first, without firm advocacy from AJ Revolution around the undeniable benefits of including utilitarian principles in constitutional law.

 

The consequences of something besides utilitarianism being enshrined in the most fundamental law of the Commonwealth could be utterly catastrophic. Religious principles that terrorise women, children, LGBTQ+ communities and animals, woke ideologies that seek to aggressively censor the truth, and far-right elitism pipping us to the post in building Britain’s new basic law could have grim ramifications for ethics and justice over the long-term, for a multi-national force that should very much be setting an example on the World stage, and using its powers strictly for good.

 

This is it, folks: a time to stand and be counted, in the name of a brighter, more just and happy future for our sons and daughters, and all generations to come.

But hang on… why support AJ Revolution, when there are other established movements/ pressure groups/ political parties who have similar short-term goals for Britain?

 

It’s important to recognise that AJ Revolution isn’t, presently, a political party (regardless of whether we go on to become one, if/when the time is right). But it’s also important to recognise the crucial things we will add to European politics, with your support:

1.​ Utilitarianism is the only code of ethics that makes sense in the long-term, and benefits everyone- regardless of skin (or indeed, fur) colour. There are no competitive utilitarian political parties in the UK. This could have dire ramifications in the current constitutional vacuum...

 

You don't need to be a registered political party to drive policy changes, and improve the status quo. NGOs like Greenpeace, with a global membership exceeding 3 million, successfully pressure governments on environmental issues- banning the whaling industry, fighting to protect the oceans and significantly influencing Parliament's decision to ban disposable vapes. They have a seat in the United Nations. Razor-witted Charlie Kirke- the autodidactic founder of Turning Point USA- arguably swung the younger vote for Donald Trump, with his pro-Republican debate videos hitting as much as 2 billion views across platforms. The Suffragette movement successfully campaigned for women's right to vote in many countries...

​and the list continues.

There are indeed political parties coming to prominence who share common ground with AJ Revolution in terms of their visions for social and economic recovery (we have working affiliations with none of them). Reform UK, for example, is publicly discussing the notion of bringing in a constitution to fill the legal vacuum that exiting the ECHR would create, under their inevitable future leadership.

 

This only makes our utilitarian movement more urgent.

 

We really can’t overstate the significance of this opportunity to enshrine utilitarian principles in constitutional law, or we potentially cement not only better foreign policy and freedom of speech into Britain’s most fundamental rules, but quite possibly some of the more nefarious aspects of our status quo- excessive wealth inequality, non-consequentialist ethics, a lack of robust animal welfare laws and the unnecessary suffering caused by our archaic monetary systems, among others…

 

A bill of rights is not a document to be drafted hastily, and it’s most certainly a once-in-a-lifetime event (more like once in several generations). As a small island nation, Britain must also seize this unique moment to build a "Project Defensor"-style alliance with like-minded nations. This alliance, founded on the universal ethical principles of secularism and utilitarianism, would strengthen international cooperation significantly over the long-term in a way that non-collaborative, non-utilitarian approaches simply can’t contend with.

 

Regardless of any common ground we share with some of the values of mainstream parties, the devil will be in the absolute details of a new basic law, and we cannot afford to waste this chance to make it as future-proof (and felicific) as possible; minimising suffering, maximising happiness, and forging stronger, lasting relationships internationally. Thus, AJ Revolution simply must actively participate in shaping this new future. Your support is crucial to ensuring that we can do that, and that the resulting laws are geared not only to the here and now, but the future, and the greater good.

 

2. We've got our sights set high, for lasting justice.

AJ Revolution is a political movement currently. However, circumstances depending- and given enough support- AJ Revolution might transition from a political movement into a political body itself someday, if that appeared to be the most impactful route to defending Western/ secular values. It couldn’t do that effectively without being on the political map first- and that starts with a solid foundation of support.

 

3. We need backups!

Assassination attempts on political figures happen all the time. We need backups, who actually know what they’re doing, and will fight for what’s right (‘Absolute Justice’). Only last year, someone tried to shoot President Trump in the head, and almost succeeded. Whatever your views on the man, he’s one of a kind, and had the country’s majority depending on him to reshape the future of America. The Trump administration would be nothing without… well, Trump. It’s not nice to admit, but this could also happen to your favourite British politician- the driving force of their own party, and the one YOU’RE counting on to reshape the future of Europe.
